Asbestos Management
Surveys

A management survey is the standard survey which assists the duty holder to manage asbestos in buildings. Its purpose is to locate, as far as reasonably practicable, the presence and extent of any suspect ACMs in a building which could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, including foreseeable maintenance and installation, and to assess their condition. Our Asbestos Management Survey Reports are fully compliant with UKAS standards and have been designed to provide our customers with all the information required to manage asbestos containing materials using the asbestos register, annotated plans and the recommendations with photos of the asbestos locations.

Asbestos Refurbishment or Demolition Surveys

A refurbishment or demolition surveys are required before any refurbishment work is carried out to a building or before a building, or part of a building, is demolished. This type of survey is used to locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs in the specific areas of the asset/s. The survey would be fully intrusive and involve destructive inspection, as necessary, to gain access to all areas, including those that may be difficult to reach. A refurbishment and demolition survey may also be required in other circumstances, e.g. when more intrusive maintenance and repair work will be carried out or for plant removal or dismantling.

Asbestos Re-inspections

Asbestos annual re-inspections are required to monitor the condition of asbestos containing materials (ACMs) identified in a previous survey, the frequency of these are generally annual checks but the frequency can extend beyond 12 months based on risk assessment. Higher risk materials should be considered for re-inspection more frequently than 12 months. We offer re-inspection services that ensure the regular monitoring and assessment of risk and in so doing, assists duty holder’s responsibilities of managing asbestos in buildings as required by the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

Asbestos Sampling

We can deliver routine and emergency bulk sampling and analysis services for customers who are concerned about suspect materials in buildings or structures who do not wish to carry out a full survey. Sampling results can be delivered to clients within a few hours following the collection of a sample as we operate a testing laboratory at our head office in Essex. Our sampling services are offered on an emergency basis and are available 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
